Thank you to everyone who stood with us during the 2020 campaign for LA County Supervisor for the 4th District. In the midst of one of the most challenging times in recent history—during a global pandemic, widespread uncertainty, and economic hardship—we launched a bold campaign for LA County Supervisor against incumbent, Janice Hahn. And though we did not win the seat, we ran a campaign grounded in truth, powered by community, and driven by a shared vision for justice and equity. We are proud of having moved the needle and of the fight we fought. And we are especially proud of you—the supporters, volunteers, donors, organizers, and neighbors who carried this campaign through the storm. While the 2020 race has come to a close, our work is far from over. The urgent issues our communities face: Affordable housing and protections against displacement Fair access to healthcare and essential services Support for small businesses and working families Environmental justice and infrastructure accountability Transparent, ethical leadership that puts people first Strengthened protections for women, children, minorities, and citizens. Though we did not win the seat, we made our presence known—and our message was clear. We fought a good fight, one we can all be proud of. And make no mistake: the issues that mattered then still matter now. We may have paused, but we are not done. We’re reorganizing. We’re building. And we’ll be back—stronger than ever. This isn’t just a campaign. It’s a movement. And movements don’t end with a single race. Stay connected. Stay engaged. Stay ready. Because the next chapter is coming—and together, we’ll write it. Stronger. Smarter. Unafraid. With gratitude and determination, Desiree T. Washington
